Day 1: Arrival at Laugarholt
You have arrived by bus at Hólmavík, a village on the east coast of the north west peninsula. There we pick you up by car, cross the plateau Steingrímsfjarðarheiði, then go along the coast of the large fjord system Ísafjarðardjúp and finally turn into our remote valley Skjaldfannadalur. The drive from Hólmavík to Laugarholt, which is the last perennial inhabited farm north of Ísafjarðardjúp, takes about one hour. We enjoy dinner altogether on the farm and get to know each other. Maybe an evening walk and a dip in our geothermal swimming pool or hot tub. Overnight stay on the farm.
